I listened to the audiobook which is read by the author herself. It is a collection of the author’s thoughts and musings about the many ordinary things in life from queer packaging of electronics (“it seems that the people who pack batteries don’t want you to open them, that is why they make it so thick…..I mean what could possibly happen to a battery?”) to writing a gratitude journal (“Gratitude is looking on the brighter side of life, even if it means hurting your eyes.”) to self image(“Start thinking positively. You will notice a difference. Instead of “I think I’m a loser,” try “I definitely am a loser.” Stop being wishy-washy about things! How much more of a loser can you be if you don’t even know you are one? Either you are a loser or you are not. Which is it, stupid?”). Most of the chapters are quite a delight to listen to, made a lot more enjoyable by the wry and adroit delivery. There are a number of passages that will make you think and reflect upon what you have just heard while you are laughing.
If you are looking a buy a book just to lighten up your mood, this should be definitely on your list.If possible buy the audiobook instead of the book.It will be totally worth it.
